STI is responsible for the planning of activities and the definition of strategies for the development, implantation and maintenance of information software systems that supports the administrative and academic activities of the Universidade de São Paulo

In concrete, the competence of information systems has the main purpose of promoting the informatization of the administrative and academic processes of the university so as to provide agility in the operational proceedings, the digitalization of documents, the management and the planning of institutional actions based on analytical services.

Among the main activities can be found: modeling of administrative and academic processes, modeling of data base, prototyping, test development, homologation of functionalities and the set up and the maintenance of the information services.
